Frequently Asked Questions
Can I provide my own artwork?
You sure can. It is common for us to work with customer's original artwork. For the best printing results, we request that your artwork is:
A clear, high contrast design (we can't print photographs or heavily tonal images). The simpler and bolder the design, the better the screenprint result.
A vector file - PDF, EPS or AI files preferred. We can try to use a JPG, PNG or bitmap type files but these may incur an artwork fee if we need to rework the file to be screenprint ready.
A maximum of 4 colours. For more on this, read the colour section of the FAQs.
How does freight work?
You are welcome to pick up direct from our Sydenham workshop. Otherwise we freight your goods to you and can deliver nationwide. Freight charges will apply.
Can I provide my own glasses/ceramics to be printed on?
Yes you can - though we would need to make sure your glass or ceramic is compatible with our printing process. If you can provide us with an image or sample of your wares, we can let you know what is possible. Another note - although we work hard to avoid breakages, occasionally this can happen and we encourage you to account for that risk when supplying your wares.
What is the turnaround time for my order?
We work with a turnaround time of 15 working days. If your order is required by a certain date, let us know and we will work hard to accomodate you. If you are after a short-notice job, we can also try to accomodate this though we do charge a rush fee. We also set a cut off date for jobs needed during the busy festive season.
Is there a limit on the number of colours I can get printed?
We can print up to four colours, with the addition of each colour increasing the per unit cost, MOQ and time taken to complete the job. This is because each colour requires its own silkscreen and setup.
Can you ensure there are no breakages in your print process?
Unfortunately as our technique is all done by hand, we cannot guarantee zero breakages. We want customers to be aware of this when ordering - if you have a very specific quantity you are after, then it is worth adding a buffer of around 2%.
Are my new glasses and ceramics dishwasher friendly?
Our ceramics are dishwasher safe. For our glassware, it depends on the ink we use – which is selected based on your design requirements. For some glass inks, we recommend hand washing for longevity – the chemicals used in dishwasher cleaners can degrade the print over time.
Why do I have to pay a setup fee?
Transferring your digital artwork onto a silkscreen to get it print ready is a bit of a process. We charge a set a setup fee for the time and resources needed for this part of the printing journey.
Can you do a sample first?
We will provide you with a visual PDF proof for you to approve before we begin your print job. We can provide a physical sample if it is for a bulk and reoccurring print job.
Are there minimum or maximum numbers of units I can get printed?
There is no minimum, though anything under 24 units we class as a retail order and we price it accordingly. We are used to printing large runs, so let us know what you are after and we will let you know if we can do it!
